Order of the Arrow
Lodge Procedures
Lodge dues
1. Dues are collected on a calendar year basis, January-December. The first request is to be made in the February Turtle Tales.
2. In 2005 return of the new plastic membership card will indicate current dues. In subsequent years a small printed card will be returned upon receipt of dues to remind the member that their dues have been paid for that year.
3. We will code the mailing label of the member with the last year of dues paid.
4. The Lodge will send a postcard in November to remind those members behind in their dues that they are about to be dropped.
5. Prior to registration with the National Order of the Arrow each year in December, those members who have not paid their dues for the current year will be dropped from membership.
6. Reinstatement into the Lodge will simply require that current year’s dues are paid. We will no longer charge double for reinstatement.
Brotherhood
1. Questioning will be available by Chapter officers at chapter functions and by the Lodge at the Fall and Spring Reunions.
2. The Brotherhood fee will be set to cover the cost of the Brotherhood sash and will be collected with the Brotherhood Progress Card and letter to the Brotherhood Committee at the Lodge event the afternoon of the Brotherhood ceremony.
OA shed at Camp Lewallen
It is the responsibility of the Lodge to maintain and keep clean the OA shed at Camp Lewallen. No flammables are allowed to be stored in or around this structure.
Emblem and neckerchief limitations
Lodge members are restricted to the purchase of two flaps at each Lodge event.
NOAC
1. Where possible every youth member who registers on-time for the National Order of the Arrow Conference shall be eligible under these guidelines:
A. Must understand and be able to:
1. Be counted on to be 100% on their own
2. Be capable of long walks and physical activities in hot weather.
3. Able to navigate a large college campus using a map.
4. Able to return to dorm room by themselves after evening activities.
B. Must agree to demonstrate the highest level of Scouting behavior.
C. Must be approved by the Lodge Adviser and NOAC adult advisor.
D. Must have a complete uniform for the event.
2. Adult delegates must meet the youth requirements listed above.
Recognizing that the current guidelines require a minimum of two youth for every adult participant, adults will be selected on the following basis:
A. Lodge advisers, chapter advisers, and the NOAC adult advisor will be offered the first delegate spots.
B. Order of the Arrow members whose sons are attending as youth will be offered next.
C. Adult Arrowmen who have not before attended a NOAC will be selected next.
D. Should any of the levels above exceed our quota of adults, delegates will be chosen by lottery.
D. Other interested adults will be offered spots by lottery.
3. Lodge Contingent and Staff Memebers to the National Order of the Arrow Conference may elect to have a NOAC activity patch in the shape of the Lodge Flap for trading at NOAC. The design for this patch will be approved by the participants. Patches should be available to allow non-participating Lodge members the opportunity to purchase at least one. NOTE: AT NO TIME SHALL THESE ACTIVITY PATCHES BE WORN ON A MEMBER’S UNIFORM IN THE PLACE OF THE LODGE FLAP.
Lodge Honor Camper and Service Awards
The Lodge will have these two recognition pieces available until current supplies of emblems are depleted. Lodge members earn the awards by completing the requirements cards. They then turn-in the card and purchase the appropriate emblem at the Lodge event trading post.
Lodge Neckerchief
The Lodge Neckerchief shall be determined by a 2/3 vote of the members present at any one meeting of the Lodge. Each member of the Lodge will receive only one (1) Lodge Neckerchief of each design or color. It is not to be traded, resold, or given away.

Lodge Back patch
The Lodge Back patch shall contain the following:
A design for the Lodge Back patch shall be determined by a 2/3 vote of the members present at any meeting of the Lodge.
Each member of the Lodge may purchase any number of Lodge Back patches. The Back patches may not be traded.
Lodge Awards
SECTION 1: An award shall be given to chapters who earn recognition by the requirements listed on the Honor Chapter form. Requirements for the Honor Chapter award shall be decided on determined by the Lodge Executive Committee.
SECTION 2: A traveling trophy plaque shall be presented annually to the Chapter that wins the Fun Weekend activities.
SECTION 3: The Lodge Adviser shall present Lodge Adviser Awards annually under standards set by the current Lodge Adviser. Chapter Advisers shall make recommendations to the Lodge Adviser.
SECTION 4: The Lodge shall present Founders Awards annually under the guidelines set by the National Order of the Arrow Committee. The Lodge Executive Committee shall appoint a committee of no less than 5 past recipients to consider all input and nominate the specified number. The committee will meet no later than the Fall Reunion and make its decision. Anyone can nominate a member of the Lodge and this process will be spelled out in the publication of the TURTLE TALES.
SECTION 5: The Lodge Chief shall present the Lodge Chief Award annually. The Lodge Chief shall choose one youth and one adult recipient. The criteria for this award are set by the current Lodge Chief.
SECTION 6: The Lodge Executive Committee may from time to time choose to present "The Patron of the Anpetu-We Lodge Award." This award may be given to a person who is not a member of the Lodge, a business, or a group, presented in appreciation for service or gifts to the lodge and or the scouting movement.
Websites
If chapters develop a website it must be edited by an adult adviser chosen by the chapter adviser.
The Adviser must have access to edit the site, and the Lodge, district, and Council reserves the right of edit.
Vigil
A separate procedures section has been developed for the Vigil Honor. Copies are available to Vigil Honor members.
